Question revision: 1
Exact question: Which ready-made AI agent skills are most useful for web design and frontend development, and when should you use each one?
Research note · 16 October 2026
Need an editable Figma file, or a working web page?
Figment is an author-described Claude Code skill for turning code-based designs into editable Figma screens. Its README also describes a local Figma plugin and offline layout checks. That is a design-handoff task, not a general route for changing a live website.
Current choice: For a live web screen, keep the work in the application and check its rendered result. If your deliverable is an editable Figma file tied to an existing design system, Figment is worth inspecting, not yet a catalogue recommendation.
What we checked
The repository README documents a Claude Code install path, a Figma desktop plugin import, layout checks for overflow and clipping, and an MIT license. Its source link points to mutable main. We could not inspect the SKILL.md body, install the plugin, or verify its output. The offline checks are the author’s claim, not our result.
A product manager reports using this route to move code-based mockups into Figma and says colleagues use it. That is firsthand context from the author, not independent evidence of speed, adoption, or design quality.
Before you try it
Check the exact skill revision and loaded instructions. Confirm that your Figma desktop setup can run the local plugin. Try one fixed screen with known tokens and components, then inspect the editable Figma output for layout, text, and token fidelity. A passing offline check alone cannot establish that the Figma file matches the web UI.
No recommendation in the web-implementation shortlist changes today. No skill-versus-brief result was measured.
