Marketing Skills Catalog/Content Strategy priority and evidence-claim audit

Research report · 9 October 2026 · Run 19

Content Strategy is a draft scaffold, not a priority measure

Keep the card, but narrow its claim. The selected source can organize a proposed first-month content plan. Its scores, buyer-stage labels and competitor gaps do not establish demand, traffic, conversion or return.

What was inspected

The selected Content Strategy file returned full text on 9 October and was marked crawled today. The mutable main page is not an immutable file pin. The directory listing returned crawled five months ago; it showed only SKILL.md then, not today's complete inventory. The owner README, crawled two days ago, describes the planning output and install routes and warns that host behavior varies and third-party SEO figures are estimates needing source, market, retrieval date and missing-value disclosure. The MIT license returned crawled today. Crawl ages are not source commit dates.

The skill requests business, audience, product, goals, questions, objections, existing content, budget, staff, formats, competitor information and perceived gaps. Keyword tools or previous competitor work are optional; competitor and forum research need internet access. It invites call transcripts and support tickets without specifying authorization. Its final output does not require citations, dates, missing-data or confidence fields. It states no CMS publication, send, deployment or spend action. It says to gather customer research before committing to a full plan if none exists, and to fit the calendar to capacity.

Source outputs versus defensible claims

Source outputEvidence boundaryUse now
Pillars and clusters a brand can “own”Approved product scope, customer questions and content inventory can inform structure, not ownership, demand or ranking.Candidate organizing themes.
Buyer-stage mapping with “proven” modifiersA word such as “best” or “pricing” is not proof of intent. The source provides no validation for its modifier list.Provisional labels for review, not a classifier.
Volume, competitor ranks and “top-performing” postsNeed named data source, market, date, unit and missing or estimated values. A discovered page is only a sample.Dated observations where directly seen; otherwise unknown. No traffic forecast.
Content gaps and opportunity levelsNeed authorized inventory, dated scoped competitor sample, audience relevance and capacity. Sample absence is not market-wide demand.Sampled coverage-difference hypothesis; owner reviews relevance.
40/30/20/10 weighted score and X/10 prioritiesNo factor rubrics, missing-data path, calibration or outcome validation. The sign of resource requirements is undefined.Discussion prompts only. Do not present X/10 as measured opportunity or expected return.
Search traffic as foundation; pain topics “convert better”; five interviews “dramatically improve” fitNo contextual outcome studies cited. Search-first may conflict with the actual goal.Unsupported generalizations, not pool advice.
Four-week editorial calendarNeeds approved goal, research readiness, writer and reviewer capacity, dependencies and owner approval.Editable proposal, not a workload promise or publication approval.

Run 18's Search Page Audit X/38 was a required page-quality rating with additional Google-specific conflicts, so that card was removed. Content Strategy's X/10 can be treated as a source heuristic for draft discussion, not an objective decision measure. That difference supports narrowing this card, not validating its weights.

First route for one content month

Record approved inputsGoal, audience and product boundary; dated customer questions or an explicit research gap; existing content; permitted competitor sample; dated keyword measurements with market and missing values; actual capacity.
Make a reviewable draftCandidate themes and topics, source or owner-record references, confidence and unknowns, provisional stage and gap labels, reasons and trade-offs for order, and a four-week capacity-bounded schedule.
Keep action separateThe content lead and data owner review sensitive inputs. The content lead chooses order, then separately approves each brief and publication. Without customer research, gather it before committing to a full strategy.

A versioned template needs no numerical score. Neither it nor the skill was run, timed or compared for quality here. A portable package adds provenance, host and web-data review burden without demonstrated advantage for this single job.

What would change the decision

Revisit if authorized practitioners document repeated, checkable omissions in the maintained template route. Compare the same approved inputs and named reviewers with a verified, fully inventoried Content Strategy revision, testing whether it prevents those omissions without false-priority or privacy costs. Remove the card if a directly inspected revision makes unsupported scores objective investment decisions without evidence or unknowns, or if real-work checks show reviewers cannot contain the false-priority labels. A new revision or anecdote alone proves no time, safety or outcome benefit.

Activity and inherited stops

This was a selected-source claim audit, not a generated plan, test or package search. No customer record, target site or analytics account was accessed. No package was installed, copied, executed, security- or privacy-reviewed, host-tested or outcome-tested. The earlier Run 4 and Run 5 stop before a Superamped install recommendation remains. The Run 18 page-audit removal and Run 17 paid-media removal are unchanged. Earlier descriptions remain dated history, not today's endorsement.
