Two jobs, two stops before connected action
An approved article can end as two local social drafts. A proposed landing-page variant can end as a preflight memo, or an explicit list of unknowns. Neither local endpoint requires a connected account. Buffer and Statsig document possible later workflows, but this research did not test either product or establish an advantage for the source-described skills.
The two local endpoints
These are distinct jobs, not a ranking of products or instruction packages. Each has a reviewable stopping point.
Job 1 · editorial
Approved article → LinkedIn text and short X thread
- Inputs
- One approved, non-sensitive article; canonical link; rights and attribution; audience, voice and call to action.
- Local output
- Two unscheduled drafts with claim-to-passage pointers and unresolved checks. The one-report manual exercise found that both a maintained template and source-guided drafting needed numeric-context corrections in unblinded author review. It did not show which route is better.
- Reviewer
- A named editorial or brand reviewer checks each material claim against the article, rights, quotation, link, call to action, voice and current channel display rules.
- Stop
- No connected-channel write, approval request, queue placement, scheduling, posting or engagement claim follows from local drafts. A channel or business owner must separately authorize those actions.
Job 2 · experiment design
Landing-page variant → preflight memo
- Inputs
- An owner-approved change, audience and primary event; denominator and window; eligible assignment unit; baseline and traffic quality; worthwhile effect; allocation, power, error rate, guardrails and horizon.
- Local output
- A worksheet records the hypothesis, assumptions and missing values. Without real inputs it gives no page-specific sample size, duration or feasibility verdict. The source audit found a plausible illustrative table, not a design for this page.
- Reviewer
- A named analyst checks measurement, randomization, assumptions, stopping and later inference. The marketing owner approves the change and worthwhile effect; site and business owners retain implementation and action authority.
- Stop
- No data pull, platform configuration, launch, result, winner, pause or ship/stop call follows from the memo.
What the original instructions add
The Social Content selected file describes goal, audience and voice questions, extracting article ideas, and adapting copy for LinkedIn and X. It also describes local-context reads, scheduling, remote drafts and analytics; those wider steps are outside the bounded local job. The pool's two-output limit, claim trace and separate release gate are proposed controls, not requirements established by that file.
The ab-testing selected file offers hypothesis and metric prompts, sample guidance, templates and implementation/results language. Its rounded sample table is illustrative. Source wording about a “winner” or guardrail stop does not authorize inference or a live action. The pool's unit, provenance, analyst and business gates are added controls, not observed skill behavior.
What a connected product could add
Buffer: remote draft and approval path
Buffer's draft and approval documentation describes connected-channel drafts, a Team-plan approval workflow and roles with different authority. Draft scheduling documentation distinguishes a saved draft from a queued post. These are vendor descriptions, not evidence that this pool has a plan, channel access, configured role, faithful copy or reviewed rights. Saving a remote draft is already an external write.
Statsig: data-backed sizing and experiment workflow
Statsig Power Analysis describes using historical population and metric statistics to estimate effect size, exposure and duration under selected assumptions. Its process documentation still separates configuration, code, checks and results review. Reviews depend on setup; the decision framework recommends but does not enforce ship logic. Make a Decision can ship a group, so it is beyond preflight. No account, historical data, experiment or result was examined here.
Evidence ceiling and next check
This comparison is an inference from the saved selected-source reads and official product documentation, not a measured head-to-head test. No approved customer article, social account, experiment brief, eligible traffic or analytics was supplied. The earlier social exercise used one pool-authored report and unblinded self-review; the A/B arithmetic check tested a source example, not a page. Reach, engagement, conversion lift, feasible duration, winner and vendor preference remain unknown.
The selected Social Content file displayed 2.4.0 in the 27–29 October reads; ab-testing displayed 2.0.3 on 28 October. These were mutable selected-file observations, not immutable intended revisions, complete package inventories, installations or effective host-permission checks. A future test would need an authorized real article and independent editorial review, or an approved experiment brief and analyst design review, plus exact package and host-access inspection before testing a skill. No such test is reported here.
