Before calling a plugin ready: four separate evidence questions
An installed entry, uploaded configuration, approved replacement and useful recipient output answer different questions. None alone establishes end-to-end readiness.
- Installed or callable now? In the 7 October configured-marketplace Codex CLI study, installed/enabled state differs from the skill or MCP tool available in the current session. The documented new CLI session after installation is a prerequisite, not a universal repair. A present capability still needs actual authorized invocation and useful output. Original primary basis: developer commands. No command, invocation, diagnosis or retest was performed.
- Configured in source or saved for connection? The 10 October portable public remote-MCP correction locates the provided OAuth client ID with the named server in root
mcp.json; a required application secret belongs in Connect, not the ZIP. Advanced settings display source configuration, while an existing registration can lock changes. Upload alone does not prove saved credentials changed. Original primary basis: submission authentication. The reported account's cause and fix remain unknown; no connection was tested. - Under replacement review or published? The 11 October review-choice study distinguishes one active same-plugin review from local preparation. For an already published remote-MCP version, the documented path is to retain it during replacement review, then directly publish the approved replacement—not remove it first merely to update. Original primary basis: remote-MCP review. This is not a queue-time promise or an observed successful replacement; recipient and loaded-session continuity remain unobserved.
- Available to the creator or useful to the recipient? The 8 October Enterprise web/Chat continuity study separates preserved work, replacement permissions, intended-recipient installation/selection and familiar output. Its proposed handoff updates a creator-controlled entry only after adequate evidence; conversion alone does not supply that evidence. Original primary basis: migration guidance. The sequence was not tested and establishes no all-plan migration calendar, old-link redirect or outside-audience continuity guarantee.
Use the evidence at its original scope
These documentary distinctions are not observed host behavior, successful authorization, safe operation or measured customer value. Actual account state and end-to-end outcomes remain unestablished in these studies. The original limitations and unresolved documentation conflicts are unchanged by this summary.
