GTA 6 is still listed for November 19; a new NDA report does not change the date
Answer: Rockstar, Take-Two, PlayStation, and Xbox still list November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. No official date change was found. A report about an alleged performer NDA reminder has one public source chain and no independent confirmation. It does not establish a new release commitment. PC still has no official platform or date.
Official release record
Rockstar’s current game page and Newswire index still show November 19, 2026. Take-Two’s August 7 fiscal Q1 2027 release lists Grand Theft Auto VI for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on that date. PlayStation lists PS5 and PS5 Pro, with a PS5 Pro Enhanced label. Xbox lists Xbox Series X|S and November 19. These pages agree on the current public commitment; none guarantees delivery.
Rockstar’s latest GTA VI Newswire items inspected are the September 24 Goodtime State merchandise announcement and the September 17 soundtrack announcement. The collectible is scheduled for November 19, but the game is sold separately. The 34-track album is also scheduled for November 19. Both show coordinated commercial activity, not that the game build is finished.
New report about performer NDAs
The claim is that Rockstar reminded GTA VI performers to observe their NDAs and that November 19 is the date they may publicly disclose their involvement. It followed Stephen Root’s public statement that he worked on the game. Root’s statement is his own; it does not confirm that an email went to other performers.
The public source chain begins with episode 141 of the GTAVIoclock podcast, published September 16. Insider Gaming and GamesRadar attribute the email claim to that podcast. The reviewed coverage does not provide a copy of the email, identify a recipient, or cite an actor confirming receipt. Later articles repeating the same account are not independent corroboration.
Verdict: unverified report; no release-date change. If accurate, permission for performers to disclose their involvement on November 19 would not be a Rockstar promise to publish a cast list. It would not prove the game is finished or remove the possibility of a delay. The date was already the official public commitment before this report.
This verdict changes if Rockstar or Take-Two publishes a schedule update, or if a named recipient independently confirms the message. A new official date or platform announcement would change the release record; a performer disclosure alone would not.
PC remains unannounced
At Take-Two’s September 17 shareholder meeting, CEO Strauss Zelnick discussed the company’s general platform strategy and said PC is becoming more important to Take-Two. The comment did not announce a GTA VI PC version, date, or window. The company’s August release lists the game only for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. PC-first buyers still have no official schedule on which to plan a purchase.
Confidence assessment
| Evidence | Effect | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Rockstar, Take-Two, PlayStation, and Xbox listings | Support a current November 19 console commitment. | Listings can change; two earlier official date movements remain relevant. |
| Preorders, soundtrack, and merchandise scheduled for November 19 | Show active launch planning. | Commercial plans do not establish software readiness or guarantee the date. |
| Alleged performer NDA reminder | No change to release confidence. | One podcast is the source; the reviewed articles repeat it without an email, recipient, or independent confirmation. |
| Take-Two’s broad PC strategy comment | Confirms PC matters to the company generally. | It is not a GTA VI platform or date announcement. |
