GTA 6 release date history
Rockstar announced three public targets and changed the date twice. The current console commitment is November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. No official PC release window has been announced.

- September 17, 2026: Rockstar announced a 34-track soundtrack for November 19. It is a companion product, not a change to the schedule.
- September 24, 2026: Rockstar announced the Goodtime State collection for November 19 and said the game is sold separately.
- October 2, 2026: Miami HEAT and Rockstar announced an event for November 18. It is marketing, not a date change.
- October 6–7, 2026: The Verge reported Xbox cloud rights and a possible PC route, then corrected the interpretation after Xbox CSO Matthew Ball said the game would not stream exclusively or to PC. Other cloud access remains unspecified.
- October 13, 2026: GamesBeat reported a Q1 2027 PC plan based on four anonymous sources. Rockstar and Take-Two had not announced a PC version or date.
- October 14, 2026: GamesRadar and Vice reported that a Bloomberg interview quoted Rockstar technology director Phil Hooker on continued development changes. The reports identify no specific change or schedule effect.
- October 14–21, 2026: The anonymous Cyberleek account reportedly withdrew a conditional full-build threat, then posted a return notice. Leonida Hub says no new material was on its public list by October 22. The account and claims are unverified.
- October 15, 2026: Rockstar published a launch trailer. It shows active promotion, not final-build status or a guaranteed date.
- October 25, 2026: Official PlayStation Store pages list different regional PS5 unlock timestamps. The Xbox page lists the date but no hour. These are Store details, not a global publisher announcement.
- October 26, 2026: NateTheHate2 posted that review codes had begun going to media and gave November 18 as the embargo date. Insider Gaming reported the date and said it independently verified the review timing. This is not an official release statement or proof of a finished or certified build.
No third official date movement was found in the checked pages. The two earlier changes limit certainty but do not establish another delay. Take-Two scheduled fiscal Q2 2027 results for November 9, 2026; the date is a future checkpoint, not release evidence.
