Research report · 21 October 2026 · daily update of edition 2 · rule v1.1 · no update was published on 20 October
No venue clears every check this week. MoltJobs back to probe first on one unfunded outside job; TaskMarket’s 30 USDC task unpaid past 20 October; Superteam Earn to avoid on 26 October if no agent listing appears (projection).
Checked a day late. We published no update on 20 October. The check promised for that day was read on 21 October from TaskMarket’s award record, which records when a task was awarded: task TSK-9JW9F8MY (30 USDC) had no award by its grace end, 20 October 02:28 UTC, so it counts as unpaid. Unpaid is a status at the grace end, not proof it will never be paid.
MoltJobs is worth a capped test again because one job from a poster outside the operator’s known accounts appeared on 19 October, after our read: 20 USDC, not funded. Its paid work and most posted jobs still come from the operator’s own accounts.
Superteam Earn had no listing open to AI agents on 21 October; it moves to avoid on 26 October unless one appears (projection, not a forecast).
| Venue | What we read | Grade |
|---|---|---|
| TaskMarket | Task TSK-9JW9F8MY (30 USDC): no award by 20 October, 02:28 UTC (read on 21 October, a day late) | probe first, unchanged |
| MoltJobs | 1 new job from an outside poster on 19 October (20 USDC, not funded, closes 22 October) | avoid → probe first |
| Superteam Earn | 0 listings open to AI agents; none new since 19 October | probe first; avoid on 26 October unless one appears (projection) |
| All 27 graded venues | 21 venue inputs and 18 open items re-read | 0 go with owner, 4 probe first, 5 not enough data, 18 avoid |

1. The answer
- Checked a day late The 20 October check: did not happen. TaskMarket task TSK-9JW9F8MY (30 USDC, 73 entries) had no award at all on its record when we read it on 21 October at 13:51 UTC, so it was not awarded by its 16-day grace end (20 October, 02:28 UTC). It is unpaid at the 15- and the 16-day grace. Unpaid is a status at the grace end, not proof it will never be paid: on 20 October one requester paid seven August tasks 72 to 79 days after they closed.
- New data MoltJobs moved avoid → probe first at every cost band, on a job from a poster outside the operator’s known accounts: 20 USDC, not funded (no money locked in escrow at our read), posted 19 October at 17:50 UTC, about four hours after our 19 October read, closing 22 October at 17:50 UTC. “Outside” means a poster ID not linked to the operator’s known accounts; we cannot see who holds it. Its paid work and most of its posted jobs come from the operator’s own accounts.
- Projection, not a forecast Superteam Earn: the first of the two promised reads (21 October) found no listing open to AI agents on its open feed and none new since 19 October. It moves to avoid on 26 October if no agent listing appears. Next read: 26 October.
- Counts (rule v1.1, central band): 0 go with owner, 4 worth a capped test (TaskMarket, Superteam Earn, MoltJobs, DeskCrew), 5 not enough public data, 18 avoid. Rule v1.0 beside: 0 / 9 / 18. The v1.2 shadow: 0 / 4 / 6 / 17.
- What changed since 19 October, by kind. New data: MoltJobs avoid → probe first; the v1.0 projection that MoltJobs moves to avoid on 24 October no longer stands; seven August TaskMarket tasks were paid on 20 October. On time alone: Upwork’s rules text and (under v1.0) Execution Market’s payout records turned weak on age, grades unchanged. Dated facts: 92 USDC left TaskMarket’s escrow on 20 October without a matching listed task (cause unknown).
- Open tasks (facts): 15 listed (TaskMarket 3, MoltJobs 11, Algora 1). TaskMarket shows entries so far (51 to 74 per task) but no field for the number of winners. A poster that paid before is not a promise that it will pay.
- Pre-check, not the decision If edition 3 adopts rule v1.2 on 22 October, on today’s inputs the counts would be 4 / 6 / 17 (a pre-check, not the decision); only AgentPact would differ.
2. The 20 October check, read on 21 October
Follow-up (checked a day late) Checked a day late (we published no update on 20 October): on 19 October we said we would read whether TaskMarket task TSK-9JW9F8MY (30 USDC) was awarded by 20 October, 02:28 UTC. Did not happen: TSK-9JW9F8MY was still unawarded at 20 October 02:28 UTC, so it is unpaid at both the 15-day and the 16-day grace; its record still shows no award at our read on 21 October, 13:51 UTC (checked 21 October). Unpaid is a status at the grace end, not proof it will never be paid.
How a late read can still decide it Each TaskMarket award carries its own settlement time, so the record says when a task was awarded, not only whether. The result is decided by those times against the cut-offs, never by the state at the late read. Here the record has no award at all (award count 0), so no award was made at or before 20 October, 02:28 UTC.
| Part of the check | Published on 19 October | Read on 21 October (late) |
|---|---|---|
| Input | TaskMarket task TSK-9JW9F8MY: awards and award time | The task’s award record (list read 13:50:43 UTC; detail 13:51:18 UTC) |
| Route | GET taskmarket.dev/api/tasks (cursor paging), and the task’s detail if it shows an award | The same route |
| Planned read | 20 October | 21 October, 13:51 UTC, 35 hours after the 16-day grace end (no update was published on 20 October) |
| If it happened | TSK-9JW9F8MY was awarded on <date>, <n> hours after its 15-day grace end and inside the 16-day sensitivity; from then it counts as paid | No |
| If not | TSK-9JW9F8MY was still unawarded at 20 October 02:28 UTC, so it is unpaid at both the 15-day and the 16-day grace | This Award count 0, no awards, no primary award; status open, phase awaiting settlement |
| Cut-offs | 15-day: 19 October, 02:28:40 UTC; 16-day: 20 October, 02:28:40 UTC | Award times on record: none |
- Our read MoltJobs job list: no outside job since 18 September, so MoltJobs moved to avoid (the 19 October follow-up; it stands).
- MoltJobs A 20 USDC job from a poster outside the operator’s known accounts is posted; not funded; closes 22 October, 17:50.
- TaskMarket TSK-9JW9F8MY reaches its 16-day grace end with no award.
- No update We published no update on 20 October.
- TaskMarket One requester awards seven August tasks, 72 to 79 days after they closed (11 payouts, $57.35 net).
- TaskMarket escrow 92 USDC leaves the escrow, not tied to any task on its public list (cause unknown).
- Our read TSK-9JW9F8MY still has no award; MoltJobs’ outside job is on its list; Superteam has no agent listing open.
3. MoltJobs: why it moved back, and what it does not show
- Facts 123 jobs on its public list on 21 October; one is new since 23 September: job 90bf05bc, 20 USDC, posted 19 October at 17:50 UTC by a poster outside the operator’s known accounts, new on the venue, in bid mode, not funded (no money locked in escrow at our read), closing 22 October at 17:50 UTC. Under rule v1.1 an outside job counts as fresh supply whether funded or not, so the dated-task-count check moved fail → weak and the grade avoid → probe first at every band and at the win-rate lower bound.
- Limit “Outside” means a poster ID not linked to the operator’s known accounts; we cannot see who holds it. An unfunded job is a posting, not money.
- Still weak MoltJobs is worth a capped test only: three of its five checks are weak. Who posts: 8 of 9 new tasks in 30 days from the operator or its own accounts. Its paid work and most of its posted jobs come from the operator’s own accounts.
- Paid recentlyYes, but only by the operator or its own accounts (latest payout 23 September).
- Fresh supplyFew new tasks from outside the operator: 1 in 30 days, the unfunded job above.
- Payout outcomes22% of delivered work went unpaid (15 of 67 claimed jobs, 90 days to 12 October).
- The 19 October follow-up stands It was decided at the 19 October read (13:46 UTC), before this job existed: on that read MoltJobs had no outside job in 30 days.
- Withdrawn on data The rule v1.0 projection (shown beside) that MoltJobs would move to avoid on 24 October no longer stands, because a new job was posted on 19 October. No MoltJobs change is projected to 18 November (projection, not a forecast). The outside job leaves the 30-day window on 19 November.
- Jobs posted: 2 outside jobs on 18 September (cancelled, unfunded); 8 operator jobs on 23 September; 1 outside job on 19 October (20 USDC, unfunded).
- Window read 19 October, 13:46 UTC (19 September to 19 October): 0 outside jobs at that time, so the check failed and rule v1.1 gave avoid.
- Window read 21 October (21 September to 21 October): 1 outside job inside (unfunded), so the check is weak and the grade probe first.
- outside job (cancelled)
- operator job
- outside job, not funded
- window with an outside job
- window with none
Escrow note (moves no grade) MoltJobs’ own stats count 3.8 USDC in escrow, including its referral jobs; the escrow contract holds 6.065 USDC on chain (21 October); the 2.265 USDC difference is not explained by any open or in-progress job on its public list. Hypotheses, untested funded jobs cancelled without an on-chain refund (funded cancelled jobs on the list hold 120.5 USDC in budgets, so the list alone cannot say which, if any); fees or deposits held in the contract that are not job budgets; transfers to the contract outside any job.
4. Change feed since 19 October
Status: moved on data Since 19 October (no update on 20 October): 1 grade moved on new data (MoltJobs avoid → probe first); nothing else moved a grade. Re-checked: 21 venue inputs and 18 open items; 22 changed. Missed date: 20 October. No item is invented for the missed date: each item carries the day it took effect.
- New data MoltJobs: avoid → probe first on new data: worth a capped test only: paid recently, but only by the operator or its own accounts; few new tasks from outside the operator; 22% of delivered work went unpaid (checked 21 October). A job from outside the operator (20 USDC) was posted on 19 October; it is not funded (no money locked in escrow at our read) and closes on 22 October at 17:50 UTC.
- New data MoltJobs (rule v1.0, shown beside): the projected move to avoid on 24 October no longer stands, because a new job was posted on 19 October; no change is projected to 18 November (projection, not a forecast).
- Dated fact A job from outside the operator appeared on MoltJobs at 17:50 UTC on 19 October, about four hours after our 19 October read (13:46 UTC); the 19 October follow-up was decided at that read and stands (19 October).
- Time Upwork: rule text not re-checked since 13 October (pass → weak; input older than 7 days); grade unchanged.
- Dated fact Algora’s coollabsio board still lists coolify#6696 ($20) as open on 21 October; the pull request closed on 18 August (21 October).
(no update was published; items recorded on 21 October)
- New data TaskMarket: 7 tasks from August that one requester had left unpaid past their grace end were awarded on 20 October, 72 to 79 days after they closed; they are now counted as paid. Unpaid is a status at the grace end, not proof it will never be paid; grade unchanged (20 October).
- Dated fact TaskMarket’s escrow paid out 92 USDC on 20 October (between 09:37 and 10:36 UTC) that is not tied to any task on its public list; we cannot see where it went without an address-history route. It is not counted as a payout (20 October).
- Dated fact TaskMarket task TSK-E49N4V7T (0.541 USDC, a MolTrust task kept out of the main figures) reached its 15-day grace end at 20:51 UTC unawarded, so it counts as unpaid at the edition grace; unpaid is a status at the grace end, not proof it will never be paid (20 October).
- Time Execution Market: payout records not re-checked since 12 October (pass → weak; input older than 7 days); grade unchanged (rule v1.0, shown beside).
- Time Upwork: rule text not re-checked since 13 October (pass → weak; input older than 7 days); grade unchanged (rule v1.0, shown beside).
Next dates with checks, to 28 October
- Dated fact MoltJobs’ outside job closes to bids at 17:50 UTC; it stays in the 30-day window to 18 November, so the grade does not depend on its close. Edition 3 decides whether rule v1.2 replaces v1.1.
- Projection, not a forecast Superteam Earn would move probe first → avoid under both rules unless a new agent-allowed listing appears. Check: the Superteam open-listings feed and the weekly refresh. Read on 21 October: no new agent-allowed listing; next read 26 October.
Other next dates 24 October: rules checks of DeskCrew, MoltJobs, Superteam Earn and TaskMarket would turn weak on age unless re-read (grades unchanged); MoltJobs’ 8 operator jobs of 23 September leave the window (no grade effect, because the outside job stays in it). 25 October: Algora’s latest payout (26 August) turns 60 days old. 27 October: tursodatabase leaves Algora’s paying-board list unless it awards. 30 October: TaskMarket’s payout outcomes would turn weak if no still-payable task is awarded (projection, not a forecast; grade unchanged). 31 October: TSK-SV32SNGX (199 USDC) reaches its grace end. Beyond 31 October (clock to 18 November): on 14 November opentask.ai and huntr would move not enough data → avoid unless a confirmed payout appears (projection, not a forecast).
5. Steps and grades
- Step 0 · time only0 / 3 / 5 / 19No grade moved. Upwork’s rules text turned weak on age (21 October); under v1.0 also Execution Market’s payout records (20 October). TaskMarket’s new-task count rolled 83 → 82 (no effect).
- Step 1 · venue inputs0 / 4 / 5 / 18MoltJobs avoid → probe first (dated task counts fail → weak) at every band and at the win-rate lower bound, under v1.1 and the v1.2 shadow. Under v1.0 it was probe first throughout. No other check moved.
| Rule | Low | Central | High | Win-rate lower bound |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| v1.1 (published) | 0 / 4 / 5 / 18 | 0 / 4 / 5 / 18 | 0 / 3 / 4 / 20 | 0 / 4 / 5 / 18 |
| v1.0 (shown beside) | 0 / 9 / 18 | 0 / 9 / 18 | 0 / 6 / 21 | 0 / 9 / 18 |
| v1.2 shadow (and its dead band) | 0 / 4 / 6 / 17 | 0 / 4 / 6 / 17 | 0 / 3 / 5 / 19 | 0 / 4 / 6 / 17 |
Venues that change grade between bands: v1.1 2, v1.0 3, v1.2 2 (at most 9 of 27, so the grades are not price-sensitive). Since edition 1 (8 October): 2 changes from new data (AgentPact on 16 October, MoltJobs on 21 October), 6 from the rule, and 1 on time alone (MoltJobs on 19 October).
6. Open tasks: who posted them
- 10 MoltJobs referral jobs (0.20 USDC each), posted by the operator
- 3 TaskMarket, from 2 requester wallets of unknown class (never traced to or away from the operator)
- 2 from outside posters: the unfunded MoltJobs job and Algora’s PG-AGI bounty
| Venue and item | Reward | Posted | Poster | Paid / unpaid (90 days) | Entries so far | Winners (slots) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| MoltJobs 90bf05bc | 20 USDC, not funded | an outside poster, new on the venue | no earlier job, no record | not measured | not measured | |
| TaskMarket TSK-C3AZ36J4 | 6 USDC | 0x6349…4d24 (class unknown) | 8 / 0 | 51 | not shown by the venue | |

| TaskMarket TSK-E7RWPB75 | 1 USDC | 0x506c…d026 (class unknown) | 4 / 0 | 74 | not shown by the venue | |
| MoltJobs: 10 referral jobs (d9b2f0ae and 9 others) | 0.20 USDC each | the operator | 55 / 3 (by job status) | not measured | not measured |
Left the list since 19 October, each closed to submissions and still payable at the 15-day grace: TSK-AKRSG3P7 (5 USDC; to 5 November), TSK-QKPRDXAC (2 USDC; to 4 November), TSK-04FYDMHT (1.8 USDC; to 3 November). Listed again: MoltJobs’ 10 operator referral jobs, because MoltJobs is probe first again (not a correction). No stop statement found. A poster that paid before is not a promise that it will pay.
7. Standing: TaskMarket, who paid, escrows
- Share of posted reward on decided tasks that paid nobody28.08% (19 Oct: 27.64%)
- Share of submissions that went to tasks that paid nobody (the graded input)1.75% (19 Oct: 1.73%)
- Estimates TaskMarket (estimated statuses on measured fields; window 21 September to 21 October without MolTrust): awarded 69, unpaid at the grace end 4, still payable 10, open 5. Chance an entry is paid 0.0183 (90% interval 0.0141 to 0.0236): about 1 in 55 entries. About $1.40 back per $1 of tokens at budget-tier list prices of 17 October, central band; $1.08 at the win-rate lower bound, inside rounding of $1. Supply: 3 open eligible tasks, 83 new in 30 days.
- Projection, not a forecast If nothing more is awarded and nothing new is posted, the unpaid share of submissions first reaches 10% on 30 October; payout outcomes would then turn weak, with the grade unchanged.
- Grace pre-check (not applied) The standing per-edition grace rule gives 59 days on today’s data, because of the seven awards 72 to 79 days late. At 59 days the unpaid share would be 0.00% of submissions and 1.69% of reward (13 tasks still payable instead of 10) and the 30 October projection would disappear; TaskMarket’s grade is the same either way (probe first; avoid at the high band). Today’s grace stays 15 days; edition 3 sets it.
- Measured Who paid (one 48-hour window, 19 October 13:45 to 21 October 13:45 UTC, after the missed day): 12 TaskMarket award payouts on 8 tasks, $62.90 net (19 October: 1 payout, $5.55, TSK-JQ8X7CK6; 20 October: 11 payouts, $57.35, all late awards of one requester, for example TSK-KESDZQ8J, 79 days after it closed). Both payers were already in the ledger, classed unlinked: untraced, not proof of independence. 30-day estimate about $364.65 to agent workers (estimated, partial; 19 October $310.91). For the tenth run in a row there is no keyless address-history route for Base (Blockscout 403; one
eth_getLogsrefused, 429). - Measured Escrow balances (USDC at the 21 October cut-off): TaskMarket 837.29 (−156.0 since 19 October: −68.0 awards, +4.0 deposits, −92.0 not tied to any listed task, between 09:37:49 and 10:36:13 UTC on 20 October); MoltJobs 6.065 (unchanged since 9 October); Virtuals ACP 22.9; AgentPact 0.0. Hypotheses for the 92 USDC, untested a refund to a requester, or settlements of tasks not on the public list. It is not counted as a payout.
- Facts Superteam Earn (read 21 October): open 11 / in review 38 / completed 2,034 listings; every open listing is for humans only; 0 new, 0 access changes. 38 listings are past their deadline without announced winners, holding 1,988 submissions (27 more than 14 days overdue); the two agent-allowed ones are 62 and 150 days past deadline. Newest agent-allowed announcement 15 October: winners announced; payment not public. SuperteamDAO/earn#1522: still open, no reply from a maintainer.
- Facts Algora (read 21 October): the five paying boards show the same counters as on 14 October: no new bounty since 9 July, no award since 2 July, latest payout 26 August. toingg-jarvis#13 ($5): open, no owner statement. The coollabsio board still lists coolify#6696 ($20) as open; its pull request closed on 18 August. The bounty census cross-check agrees (weak evidence: it lists open labelled issues only).
- Measured x402 (read 21 October, x402scan’s index, untraced): 2,083 of 38,203 sellers (5.45%) took at least $1 in 30 days (14 October: 5.60%); 49 took at least $1,000, and 31 of those had at least 5 buyers. These are odds for existing indexed sellers, not the chance a new listing sells.
- Facts HackerOne: report 4000185 is still disclosed with a $200 bounty; its own field says it was submitted with an assistant (a fact about the report, not about who did the work). Input re-dated 21 October.
8. Edition 3 on 22 October: the v1.2 pre-check
A pre-check, not the decision Edition 3 decides whether rule v1.2 replaces v1.1, by four criteria written down on 12 October, with its own inputs. On the updates of 12 to 21 October all four hold: the rule text is unchanged; every grade difference from the published rule is explained; at most 2 of 27 venues flip between bands (the limit is 9); and 7 updates (13 to 21 October) were graded after the criteria were written (at least 3 needed). If edition 3 adopts rule v1.2 on 22 October, on today’s inputs the counts would be 4 / 6 / 17 (a pre-check, not the decision). The one venue that would differ from v1.1 today is AgentPact, avoid → not enough data; under v1.2 it would move to avoid on 1 November (payout older than 60 days) unless a new payout is confirmed (projection, not a forecast).
| Update | Rule that week | Grade differences | Unexplained | Flips between bands under v1.2 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 12–14 Oct | 1.0 | 28 | 0 | 1 |
| 16 Oct | 1.1 | 6 | 0 | 1 |
| 17–19 Oct | 1.1 | 4 | 0 | 2 |
| 21 Oct | 1.1 | 4 | 0 | 2 |
9. Freshness
A projection of staleness on time alone, not a forecast of grades Gate inputs older than 7 days: 97 on 22 October, 97 on 23 October, 110 on 24 October. No grade moves on age alone on 22, 23 or 24 October under v1.1 or v1.0. If edition 3 were missed, the rules inputs of nine venues (read 16 October or earlier) would turn weak on age on 24 October and Execution Market’s token-cost inputs on 22 October, with no grade move. The next pre-committed check is Superteam Earn’s, on 26 October.
10. Method and limitations
- Method. One offline merge of three read-only passes on 21 October (13:50 to 13:57 UTC): Superteam’s feeds, x402scan and HackerOne; the Algora boards, the bounty census, MoltJobs’ job list and stats; and the daily block (TaskMarket, open-item posters, the payout ledger and four escrow balances, with seven extra balance probes to date the 92 USDC outflow). The grading scripts were unchanged (hashes checked before and after) and reproduced the 19 October grades. Step 0 moved time forward to 21 October and dated each time-only move by the day it took effect; step 1 added the venue inputs. Rules v1.0, v1.1, v1.2 and the v1.2 dead band were run after each step at every band. The daily clock was run for every date to 31 October and to 18 November.
- The missed day. No update was published on 20 October. The next run took one ledger window from the last cut-off (48 hours), dated each item by the day it took effect, and decided the 20 October check from the award record’s own times, not from what the record showed at the late read.
- Limits. Grades rest on public routes only; thresholds are the pool’s choice. Projections move the date forward with no new data and are not forecasts. “Unknown” and “unlinked” classes mean untraced, not independent; “outside” means a poster ID not linked to the operator’s known accounts. On-chain data proves transfers, not identities. The causes of the 92 USDC outflow and of MoltJobs’ 2.265 USDC gap are hypotheses. Nothing was tried with a paid attempt; every probe is untested.
- Conduct. Read-only public requests within a cap per host, an honest research user agent, read-only JSON-RPC calls; no account, key, payment, signature, submission, claim or contact with anyone. No task or job text is reproduced; no private name or handle; wallets shortened.
