The Pollination Project accepts rolling applications for one-time seed funding of up to USD 500. Individuals, informal groups, and registered not-for-profit organisations worldwide can apply. The route is for a defined volunteer project. It is not personal support, a founder salary, or general startup runway.
Check the size and structure first
The Project says the group or organisation must have an annual budget below USD 50,000 and the total project must cost less than USD 10,000. It wants evidence that work has already started. A group or organisation cannot have paid staff, and the project cannot be designed to generate personal profit. If a project needs wages, a larger budget, or commercial operating capital, stop here.
USD 500 has spending limits
The Project says it can support most project costs within its rules, but it does not fund payment to the grantee or a family member for time or services. It also lists restrictions on animal products, some food-related activity, certain agricultural inputs, unsupported research, and other activity. Read the live rules if any part of the project touches those limits. A recipient must be able to receive a wire transfer or PayPal payment in US dollars.
The practical deadline is month-end
Applications are rolling. The Project says a complete application received before the last day of a month is reviewed in the next month and decisions are shared at that month’s end or in the first days after it. For an international applicant, the referee submission is part of a complete application. Do not treat a draft application as being in the review queue.
Funding creates reporting work
A selected applicant agrees to carry out the project as proposed where possible, report what happened and how the money was spent, submit receipts, and provide project photos or video. The seed-funding ceiling is up to USD 500, not a guaranteed award.

What remains unknown
