Verified 28 October 2026. CodeSupply first checks eligibility, then scores relevance and impact at 40%, feasibility at 30% and value at 30%. A score above 5.0/7 only reaches the next review. Check the selection gates before 3 November.

Checked 24 October 2026. NLnet says old AI-generated code is not an automatic rejection: disclose significant use and expect case-by-case review. New proposals and funded deliverables still face policy v2.0. CodeSupply closes 3 November at 12:00 CET. Check the three separate AI tests.

Verified 22 October 2026. NLnet policy v2.0 now bars AI-assisted proposal writing for the 3 November CodeSupply and Restack calls, except disclosed accessibility use; funded work allows read-only AI checks, not AI-generated deliverables. The form still has an AI disclosure field. Read the current rule and resubmission note.

Verified 20 October 2026. NLnet CodeSupply closes 3 November at 12:00 CET. The live form asks for a costed technical case and AI-use disclosure; selected work is paid after milestones. Check the form fields before applying.

Verified 19 October 2026. OpenAI accepts rolling applications from active open-source maintainers. Selected applicants may get API credits for maintenance workflows, not a general commercial app budget; the amount and expiry are unpublished. Check the application and use limits.

Checked 14 October 2026. NLnet CodeSupply accepts individual open-source software supply-chain proposals, but does not pay up front. Check the 3 November deadline, European rule and payment timing.

Checked 2026-10-12. Interledger NextGen is open, but an eligible higher education institution must apply; a student club cannot apply directly. See the institutional gate. Local Impact remains paused; NLnet’s 3 November form is live.

Updated 2026-10-06. Interledger Local Impact applications are paused despite an earlier 11 November end date. NLnet’s first Open Internet Stack call closes 3 November at 12:00 CET. NLnet published a stricter GenAI policy on 20 October; use the current rule before writing.

Global seed-grant preflight

First test the boundary: is the project already under way, under USD 10,000 in total cost, volunteer-led, and non-profit? Can you explain what USD 500 pays for without charging for your own time? If yes, confirm you can receive a US-dollar wire or PayPal payment and submit every required item by month-end. International applicants need a referee submission before the application is complete.

DC microgrant preflight

First test the fit: does the project directly benefit Washington, DC, does USD 1,000 buy a specific outcome, and can the work happen in the next month or two? If yes, open the live form and check the current cycle before writing. Keep a simple itemised budget and do not use the broad “no strings attached” label to imply an award is automatic, a personal-expense payment, or startup operating capital.

Student-credit preflight

Prove current enrollment before you count either Pack credit. Then check one live partner claim at a time. For Stripe, confirm the account and country fit, covered fee, expiry, and fee after credit before you connect a payment flow. For Heroku, check the plan, country, rollover, payment method, and post-credit price. A payment-fee credit and a monthly hosting credit are separate, bounded experiments; neither is a lump-sum budget.

CodeSupply preflight

First check whether the open-source work advances software supply-chain security and whether contributors meet the European-dimension rule. Then prepare a short project summary, a budget by task and rate, a comparison with existing work, technical risks, users and your experience. The form asks about other funding and GenAI use, but its disclosure field does not permit AI drafting under policy v2.0 except for accessibility needs. Choose CodeSupply if listed in the live form and verify the selection. Allow for review after the deadline and a first milestone before payment. Read the source check.

Eligible is not the same as a fit

Oracle has a published trial, but country availability, card verification, the permanent Home Region, and capacity decide if it is a sensible test. OTF permits individuals, but it funds a defined internet-freedom effort and pays against a project contract. UKRI welcomes individuals, yet a UK research organisation must host the project lead. NLnet can fund an individual, but only an open-technology project that fits a fund. A personal eligibility label never replaces a scope, account, or host check.

Oracle preflight

Before creating the account, confirm that your country is offered, choose the Home Region for the workload you actually plan to test, identify the service that consumes the trial, check its capacity, and decide what you will export or shut down when the credit ends. Oracle says it will not charge the verification card unless you upgrade, but that does not make post-trial resources free.

Unknowns

We have not mapped every active country-specific grant, individual eligibility case, Pollination Project country-by-country eligibility rule, Awesome Foundation chapter cycle, GitHub-Pack partner term, payment method, product exclusion, regional capacity condition, or individual project fund. The Stripe row does not prove account access or a free payment flow in your country; the Heroku row does not prove coverage in your country or a free post-credit deployment. OTF is not a worldwide inventory of general personal grants; country-specific research remains a priority.
