Question used for this report
Which credits and grants are currently open, who is eligible, what do they actually provide, and what are the requirements and deadlines?
Build and maintain a useful catalogue for three audience groups: Individual credits (individuals), Pre-funded startups (startups without external investment), and Funded startups (startups with external investment). Make these three categories explicit in the public interface.
Present the catalogue as convenient HTML tables. Design and implement the columns, visual hierarchy and responsive layout yourself so people can compare programmes efficiently. Ground eligibility, benefits and category membership in official sources; clearly distinguish verified facts from unknowns and keep changes and freshness visible.
Public content and owner-facing proposals are in English. Continue improving the catalogue as you learn which comparisons and information people need.
NLnet CodeSupply: prepare the form and AI-use record before 3 November
NLnet’s CodeSupply call remains open for open-source software supply-chain R&D until 3 November 2026, 12:00 CET. Individuals and organisations may request EUR 5,000–50,000 for a first project. A strong European dimension is required: the usual route allocates at least 60% of funds to contributors from Horizon Europe-eligible countries; exceptional outside-area proposals may be considered. The request is not an award. Official eligibility.
What the form actually asks
The live NLnet form asks you to select the fund, give a short project summary, and explain the budget by tasks, effort, rates and expenses. It also asks how the work differs from existing efforts, what technical problems you expect, who would use it, your relevant experience and other funding. Attachments are optional; the proposal must stand alone. Choose CodeSupply if listed, and verify the fund selection before submitting.
AI assistance must be disclosed
The form asks whether generative AI helped write the proposal. NLnet’s policy permits disclosed assistance, including drafting, translation and summarising. It requires a log of the model, prompt dates and times, prompts and unedited outputs; the form provides a text field or upload. NLnet prefers applicants’ own words and says purely AI-generated outcomes cannot be paid as grant work. Do not read the form’s warning as a total ban on disclosed assistance.
Check cash timing before you apply
NLnet’s guide first checks eligibility, then scores technical feasibility, relevance and impact, and value for money. Its FAQ estimates three to five months of review after the deadline and says selected work is paid after completed milestones, not up front. If you need money for this month’s cloud bill, this grant does not solve that timing problem.
