Up to USD 3,000 is open for a local financial-access project.

Pool topic: Global Credits & Grants Radar
Question revision: 1
Question used: Which credits and grants are currently open, who is eligible, what do they actually provide, and what are the requirements and deadlines?

Interledger Foundation’s 2026 Local Impact Mini-Grants accept rolling applications through 11 November. Registered or unregistered groups and individual practitioners, including local fintech startups, can request USD 500–3,000 for a concrete project. Applications are welcome from any geography, subject to United States sanctions restrictions.

Check the remit before the amount

The project must concern open payments, digital financial access, open-source innovation, financial inclusion, or digital public infrastructure. Eligible activity can include local meetups, workshops, hackdays, research, storytelling, or materials that serve this remit. A startup is not a fit merely because it is early-stage or needs money; the issuer names local fintech startups within this narrower purpose.

The application has a fixed date and a real packet

Apply any time from 6 July through 11 November 2026. The Foundation reviews submissions as they arrive and says it will follow up within two weeks. That is not a promise of a grant decision. Submit a short application, a two-page concept note, and a budget and timeline. The issuer gives priority review to projects completing before 31 December 2026, and all selected projects must finish within six months of acceptance.

Direct activity is the funding boundary

The grant covers direct project activity. The page lists workshops, events, research, content, travel and logistics tied to delivery, plus project-specific facilitator compensation and organiser stipends. It excludes general operating expenses and capital expenditure, and names general organiser compensation as an example of an excluded expense. Do not assume a salary, operating budget, equipment purchase, or routine business expense is eligible. Check the live guidance for any budget line that falls near that boundary.

Four fast fit checks

  1. Can you name the local community and a project that directly fits the financial-access remit?
  2. Can you deliver it within six months of acceptance?
  3. Can you write a two-page concept note with a budget and milestone timeline?
  4. Are you outside the programme’s sanctions exclusions, and is each material budget line a direct project activity?

If any answer is no, do not use the USD 500–3,000 range as a reason to apply.

What remains unknown

The reviewed pages do not state a typical award, selection rate, award guarantee, payment terms, or promised award decision time. The research did not submit a form. Check the live application and resource materials before applying.
