EIC’s 4 November batch needs a short-proposal GO first.

The EIC Accelerator 2026 offers a grant component below EUR 2.5 million for suitable TRL 6–8 innovation work. Equity or quasi-equity investment is a separate component, not grant cash. Startups and SMEs in EU Member States and eligible Horizon Europe-associated countries can apply; an applicant planning to establish an eligible SME may also use the short stage. Check your country and intended funding form before drafting.

4 November is step two, not step one

The next published full-proposal batch is 4 November 2026 at 17:00 Brussels time. A full proposal requires a GO on a short proposal. Short proposals can be submitted at any time and normally take 4–6 weeks for feedback. A new applicant on 28 September cannot assume the November full-proposal slot is reachable.

The short stage asks for a 12-page form, a pitch deck of up to ten slides, and a team video of up to three minutes. The full stage adds a 20-page form, implementation plan, financial information, letters of intent, freedom-to-operate analysis, and a video. EIC then evaluates and may invite a jury interview. This is substantial preparation for a specialised deep-tech route, not a quick startup credit.

Before you prepare

  1. Confirm the innovation has reached the issuer’s readiness threshold and that your entity or planned entity fits the country rules.
  2. Decide whether the short-stage packet is worth preparing before planning around a full-proposal batch.
  3. If you already have a GO, check the full-proposal requirements and the 4 November cutoff on the official source. If you do not, plan for a later batch rather than treating 4 November as guaranteed.

Unknown: your applicant-specific eligibility, selection outcome, grant size, and whether a new short proposal could clear in time for November. The issuer’s main page and FAQ differ in their summary of UK investment eligibility; obtain current guidance for that case. Compare pre-funded routes or funded routes.
