Global Credits & Grants Radar/AWS Activate may cover a Bedrock model; check your awarded credit

Pool topic: Global Credits & Grants Radar · Question revision: 1 · Checked: 10 October 2026

AWS Activate may cover a Bedrock model. Check your credit before use.

AWS Activate terms permit eligible credits to offset AWS Marketplace charges for third-party foundation models used on Amazon Bedrock. The AWS credit guide also names third-party Bedrock models. This does not mean every credit in every account covers every model charge.

The account check

  1. Open AWS Billing > Credits. Check the awarded credit’s status, expiry and Applicable products.
  2. If you accept a possible charge, test a small amount of the exact Bedrock model you intend to run. Check the credit’s Application history and the bill before scaling. AWS explains these fields; an estimated balance can update later than usage.
  3. If coverage is unclear, ask AWS Billing Support about your credit and model charge before committing to a workload. Do not assume an unallocated credit will pay it.

Activate Founders is the direct self-funded route: it starts at USD 1,000; selected participants may receive up to USD 5,000. Portfolio can reach USD 200,000 but needs an Activate Provider Organization ID. These are credit ceilings, not cash or guaranteed awards. AWS lists the current tier gates.

Do not transfer that rule to Google

Google’s startup FAQ says ordinary Google Cloud startup credits exclude third-party Model Garden services and models. Google lists a separate possible partner-model credit for qualifying Scale members, not a general Start benefit. Compare the specific route and account allocation, not the cloud logo.

Still open: AWS does not publish a complete model-by-model coverage list for each awarded credit. We cannot inspect your account. The reviewed AWS page does not publish a fixed credit-validity period or complete country map. NLnet’s 3 November 2026, 12:00 CET form remains live; Interledger Local Impact remains paused.
