An AWS Portfolio code is a verification route, not a credit award
AWS Activate Portfolio lists up to USD 200,000 for eligible provider-backed startups. Before applying, ask your Activate Provider for its confidential, case-sensitive Org ID. AWS requires the provider to verify your affiliation; the code alone does not approve the application or set the amount. Use a business email matching your company domain in both your Activate profile and credit application.
Which route fits?
Self-funded? AWS lists a separate direct Founders route starting at USD 1,000 if approved. Selected participants may receive up to USD 5,000. Do not use a Portfolio ceiling as your budget or assume a certificate or unrelated referral is an Org ID. Provider-backed? Confirm that the provider recognizes your company and can verify the application before you submit. AWS says it normally responds in 5–10 business days; that is a review estimate, not credit validity.
Why this check matters
A single applicant thread from India reports an email mismatch and asks about provider confirmation. That report does not establish a general rejection rate or prove country eligibility. It prompted us to make AWS's published steps visible. We have not confirmed the provider-specific packet, country coverage, allocated amount, or awarded-credit expiry for a particular applicant.
