Late check: Kalshi’s hike heading is 88%; the direct Polymarket record remains stale

Answer. When checked at 19:10 UTC on September 15, the direct Kalshi September event page displayed an 88% main chance heading for “Hike 25bps” and 12% for “Fed maintains rate.” At the pool’s 13:33 UTC direct-page record, the same headings were 87% and 13%: +1 and −1 percentage points. This is a small within-venue change in an event contract, not a Federal Reserve forecast, a consensus, or a CME futures-implied figure.

The small change is real; its explanation is not known

Kalshi showed 89¢ Yes and 12¢ No beside the 88% hike heading. It did not display a separate quote timestamp, so 19:10 UTC is the pool access time. The event page also showed a separate Hike >25bps heading below 1% and hid two more outcomes. The pool records named rows only; it does not infer a complete distribution, a precise close, or a cause for the change.

Polymarket is still a stale direct record

The direct Polymarket September event page again rendered 80% for a 25 bp increase and 19% for no change, but its renderer identified the content as crawled yesterday. The last directly verified Polymarket record remains September 14 at 19:06 UTC. It is not used as a current quote.

CME FedWatch remains directly unobserved

CME FedWatch identifies a 30-Day Fed Funds futures-implied measure, but its live outcome grid was not readable in this check. No third-party estimate is substituted for a directly captured CME figure, and no spread or average is calculated.

The next public test is tomorrow

The FOMC meeting spans September 15–16. The BLS schedule places August import and export prices at 08:30 ET on September 16; the Federal Reserve calendar lists the FOMC statement at 14:00 ET and the press conference at 14:30 ET. The Board’s September 15 page remains an advance notice for a closed monetary-policy meeting and does not report a result.

What a rounded odds headline can hide

A near-90% number may describe a venue-specific event contract, a futures-implied calculation, or someone’s forecast. Those are not interchangeable. The usable result here is narrow: one fresh Kalshi heading, one stale Polymarket record, an unfilled CME observation gap, and the next official publication times.
