Oracle Cloud Free Tier is a current individual cloud-credit route: Oracle publishes US$300 in credits for eligible OCI services over 30 days, alongside Always Free services. It is a trial to test a workload, not a cash grant or a fixed runway budget.
The three gates before the number
The US$300 credit is available only in select countries. Oracle’s sign-up instructions require a country selection, one account per email address, contact details, and a payment-verification card. Oracle says the card is not charged unless the account is upgraded, though sign-up is still a real account decision.
Choose the Home Region carefully. Oracle says it cannot be changed after sign-up. That makes regional capacity and the services your workload needs a check before you create the account, not an afterthought.
The clock and the workload
The promotion ends when the credit is exhausted or 30 days after sign-up, whichever comes first. Without an upgrade, Oracle says paid resources enter a grace period and are later reclaimed; Always Free resources can remain while the free account stays active. Do not assume a resource can be provisioned just because it appears in a Free Tier list: Oracle says availability is subject to capacity limits.
Next move
Before creating an account, confirm that your country is offered in the sign-up flow, choose the Home Region for the workload you actually plan to test, identify the service that will consume the trial, and decide what you will retain, export, or shut down when the 30-day credit ends. If the trial will shape a production architecture, price the same workload after the credit before you start.
