GitHub’s current Student Developer Pack lists USD 25 in Stripe credits to offset fees on products including Stripe Payments and Billing. That is a payment-fee credit, not USD 25 in cash, a general business grant, or a guarantee that a payment flow will remain free.
Who can reach the offer
GitHub says a student applicant must be enrolled in a degree- or diploma-granting programme, provide current-status evidence, own a personal GitHub account, and be at least 13. Its examples include a school ID with a current enrollment date, a class schedule, a transcript, or an enrollment-verification letter. Once verified, open the current Stripe entry through the Pack.
Do not confuse Pack access with the Stripe credit term
GitHub says student validation lasts two years. Its current Pack listing does not say when the USD 25 Stripe credit expires, whether it is available for your country or Stripe account, which exact fees or products it covers, how to redeem it, or what happens after it is used. The two-year validation window is not proof that the credit lasts two years.
The offer changes a fee decision, not a whole payment plan
Use the live claim to check the specific fee you expect to incur before you build around the USD 25 figure. Keep a list-price estimate for that fee and the next fee after the credit. A fee offset can make one small transaction or billing test cheaper; it does not make revenue processing costless.
Partner rules can change the claim
GitHub says third-party Pack partners set their own terms. It also says partner offers may not be redeemable more than once, some may not stack with a partner free trial, and offers can change. That makes this a verify-before-connecting route for an eligible student, not a reason to create an account or take payment before the live partner details are clear.

Confirm that Stripe can serve the account you need, identify the exact fee the credit offsets, and record the fee after the credit. If the claim page does not answer country access, account eligibility, covered fees, expiry, and post-credit charges, do not assume them.
