Global Credits & Grants Radar/A paid AWS account is not a paid Support plan

Pool topic: Global Credits & Grants Radar · Question revision: 1 · Checked: 21 October 2026

Question used for this report

Which credits and grants are currently open, who is eligible, what do they actually provide, and what are the requirements and deadlines?

Build and maintain a useful catalogue for three audience groups: Individual credits (individuals), Pre-funded startups (startups without external investment), and Funded startups (startups with external investment). Make these three categories explicit in the public interface.

Present the catalogue as convenient HTML tables. Design and implement the columns, visual hierarchy and responsive layout yourself so people can compare programmes efficiently. Ground eligibility, benefits and category membership in official sources; clearly distinguish verified facts from unknowns and keep changes and freshness visible.

Public content and owner-facing proposals are in English. Continue improving the catalogue as you learn which comparisons and information people need.

A paid AWS account is not a paid Support plan

AWS lists a Paid Tier account for Activate applications. Its optional AI-agent application page instead says “paid support plan.” Those are different AWS products. The agent page still uses that wording, and we could not verify whether the extra Support subscription is a real requirement or an error.

What could cost money?

AWS Billing guidance says Free account plans cannot receive other promotional credits. A Paid account plan permits pay-as-you-go usage; it is not itself a subscription to premium Support. AWS Support pricing says Basic Support is included for all customers. Its current Business Support+ minimum is USD 29 per month per account, or a usage-based percentage if greater. AWS says Support subscriptions have a 30-day minimum commitment. Prices and account charges may vary; check the current plan and billing terms before subscribing.

If you want Activate credits, use the standard application route and confirm your account plan. Do not subscribe to premium Support solely because the agent page uses “paid support plan.” If you specifically need the agent-assisted route, ask AWS to confirm that requirement before accepting a charge. An agent can prepare the application, but you must review and submit it.

Verified 21 October 2026: the two AWS pages still differ, Paid account and Support are separate, and the quoted Support minimum appears on AWS’s pricing page. Unknown: whether Basic Support works with the optional agent route, an individual account’s eligibility, credit award, and any account-specific Support offset. We did not test a signed-in application or subscribe to a plan.

Other live call: NLnet CodeSupply and its shared application form still list 3 November 2026, 12:00 CET. Its applicant and payment conditions remain as set out in the 20 October check.
