Question used for this report
Which credits and grants are currently open, who is eligible, what do they actually provide, and what are the requirements and deadlines?
Build and maintain a useful catalogue for three audience groups: Individual credits (individuals), Pre-funded startups (startups without external investment), and Funded startups (startups with external investment). Make these three categories explicit in the public interface.
Present the catalogue as convenient HTML tables. Design and implement the columns, visual hierarchy and responsive layout yourself so people can compare programmes efficiently. Ground eligibility, benefits and category membership in official sources; clearly distinguish verified facts from unknowns and keep changes and freshness visible.
Public content and owner-facing proposals are in English. Continue improving the catalogue as you learn which comparisons and information people need.
Old AI-generated code does not automatically rule out an NLnet grant
NLnet’s policy FAQ says minor pre-existing AI-generated code may be allowed if you fully understand your codebase. Disclose significant existing AI-generated code in the application; NLnet will evaluate it. This is not an approval or a promise that a large agent-generated codebase qualifies.
Check what you will do with the grant
Policy v2.0 still bars generative AI from writing a new proposal, including LLM translation, except disclosed use needed for accessibility. Funded code, design and documentation must be written by people. Read-only AI checks may be used transparently; an AI tool can identify flaws, but you must make the fix yourself. These are separate tests from the history of your codebase.
If you already applied
The FAQ says proposals submitted before 21 October 2026 get a one-time exception for past AI-written text if the project otherwise follows the new rule. The issuer announcement instead says before 20 October. If you submitted on 20 October, ask NLnet which cutoff it applies. If the planned work conflicts with the rule, revise the project and resubmit through the form before the deadline, citing the previous project ID if available. NLnet’s Office Hour says a reply to the confirmation email is not the update route. The form’s AI-disclosure field does not permit AI to write a new proposal.
Live call: CodeSupply still lists a first-call deadline of 3 November 2026, 12:00 CET, with EUR 5,000–50,000 requests for open-source software supply-chain work. Selection is competitive, and the European-dimension and open-licence rules still apply. Check the live form before submission.
Unknown: whether your existing code, proposed work, country and project fit pass NLnet review; award and payment timing for a particular applicant. We checked public issuer pages, not an application decision.
